Who We Are Looking For

Boughton Law is currently recruiting for a Junior Legal Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of administrative, clerical,  and  legal support functions in Family Law. This is a great opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant looking to gain experience in the legal industry and grow their career.  

Job Duties & Responsibilities

·          Prepare correspondence, faxes and documents from dictation, handwritten and precedent documents using application software (Word & Outlook)

·         Draft various correspondence, standard letters and documents

·          Set trials, discoveries, etc.

·          Assist in preparing pleadings & document briefs, able to work from precedents

·          Open files and maintain filing system

·          Maintain bring forward system  to ensure follow up and receipt of requested materials/documents 

·          Prepare invoices to clients (using Acumin accounting software)

·          Post time sheets (using Acumin accounting software)

·          Perform other related duties as required


·          Graduate of Legal Administrative Assistant Program

·          Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant

·          Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, including all levels of court

·          Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

·          Excellent English oral and written skills

·          Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

·          Able to draft standard correspondence with minimum supervision

·          Able to take initiative and use good judgment. Has a take charge attitude and tact

·          Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff

·          Familiar with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment
